#2 Game Update - Test Build Recording and UI

Hey everyone, some time no see!

The video below is a super quick test build recording I uploaded with a short skipped part of the introduction. It is mostly uploaded to showcase the interface.

I've taken a moment to refine the script and tackle some foundational coding, especially given the whirlwind of personal commitments this past week. Now, I'm diving straight into rendering and refining the branching narrative of the first chapter. More details below!

I also hope that everyone can see the quality difference.

User Interface

I overhauled the entire UI, starting from  scratch.

After an extensive study of typesetting across various Visual  Novels, I settled on a somewhat unconventional design that seamlessly  melds with the gameplay while maintaining readability. While the game is  designed for a textbox-free experience, an option in the settings lets  players introduce a slightly opaque background if preferred. I'm quite  pleased with the results, though I'll fine-tune some elements to enhance  clarity.

The aesthetics of Qruppo inspired me; they really got it right (and all three games are kinda fun).

Introduction Completed (almost)

The introductory segment catapults you into the final moments of the characters within the institution before their university journey. The narrative unfolds from two vantage points: the Main Character (MC) and Saya. The latter tragically takes her own life while the rest of the group unwinds at a bar. The shocking discovery of Saya's body upon your return sends ripples of panic, amplifying the existing mental and physical struggles within the group.

As the night deepens, the group seeks refuge in their sanctuary — a dirty bathroom that has witnessed countless shared memories.

As the introduction wraps up, the setting shifts to the university. Here, storylines unravel based on your choices. An early revelation is the mystifying presence of Saya — alive and tangible only to you, yet invisible and intangible to others. She's not a ghost, but her inexplicable existence becomes solely intertwined with your reality.

I'm pretty happy with the quality - and will be ramping up all development this week now that I have more time.

Warmly,

FunDi.
