Long Post: Version v2.0 & Responses to Community Questions

Hey all new visitors and followers!

I hope you're enjoying your experience with Chimera: Bloodlines so far. I've taken the time to go through various questions & feedback from the forums, and I wanted to provide some updates and clarifications.

Addressing Bugs and Story Issues

Several of you spotted bugs and inconsistencies in the game, particularly with the mismanagement of variables and continuity errors in the storyline. I acknowledge these issues, and I'm actively working to rectify them. Quality assurance is becoming increasingly important, and I'm exploring more robust methods to track and fix these errors.

I also realize I could have been clearer about the focus of the latest build, which was primarily to test new scenes and the sandbox mode. I apologize for any confusion my previous communications may have caused.

The good news is - it seems like people had great reactions toward the way the Sandbox system is implemented, which is great for me to hear.

There are some story inconsistencies in the game, due to the fact that I added new scenes at the start, but didn't include the new content to the second part of the game, which caused some story inconsistencies. I will rectify these issues in v2.0, as was the original intention. I forgot to add a developer note to the build.

Pacing - Types of Scenes

First off, the game comprises three main types of scenes:

  • Action Scenes: Fast-paced segments designed for adrenaline-pumping excitement.
  • Interaction Scenes: These are more subdued and focus on story and dialogue. While they are limited in the current build, you can expect more in future updates. Places like the Outlaw Bar and Library offer a preview of what's to come.
  • Sex Scenes: The name speaks for itself.

Striking the perfect balance among these scenes is a priority for future updates. Some people found the game to be way too fast, but in some places, I want to keep it this way. I will look for solutions at how to slightly reduce the pacing while keeping everything interesting.

Gameplay, Features, and UI Enhancements

Your feedback has been invaluable in refining features like the ChimeraPad. While it's still a work in progress, future updates will fill in the missing elements and further streamline the user interface. The game world will expand with new locations becoming accessible as you progress through different factions and storylines. I also recognize the text readability issues and am implementing fixes for a smoother reading experience.

Regarding the choice buttons, I've designed a unique choice system for the game, consisting of visual horizontal buttons, but they take a long time to make, which influences my development speed. I will need to look for a simpler system.

Choices, Alignment, and Factions

I've noticed some of you are puzzled about how the alignment system and sanctuary.

The significance of your personal stats lies primarily in how the world and its factions perceive you. It's less about specific outcomes and more about shaping your interactions within the game world. To clarify, it's not the numerical value of your alignments (Redemption/Corruption/Anarchy), but their hierarchy that influences how characters react to you.

As for the player choices, they currently affect alignment and faction points, which in turn impact character interactions. Once the STATS screen is completed (the version in the game is barebones), these mechanics will be more transparent.

I appreciate the compliments on the character bios, and yes, the player stats  page definitely needs an overhaul. It's currently incomplete, with much  of its information presented as unformatted text. I'm planning a  complete redesign for the next version, so stay tuned.

Start of the Game - Introduction Scene Revamp

I've heard concerns about the length and density of the game's exposition. Based on this, I'm working on streamlining the introductory text to make it more digestible. I also received feedback that the game's beginning seems somewhat dull and overexposed, with a lot of characters you don't care about yet.

I agree and am brainstorming ways to make the initial scenes more engaging and coherent.

Worldbuilding and Storytelling Upgrades

Also, the narrative will include multiple factions, avoiding the cliché of a single villain. Do not consider Morgana as a separate evil entity, she is also one of the available factions.

I'm also in the process of refining language elements, including accents and in-game slurs, for a more immersive experience.

Display Settings and User Preferences

For those who find the miniature portraits beside the dialogue distracting, I hear you. I'll be adding a feature that allows you to enable or disable these images according to your preferences.

Closing Remarks

Your feedback has been invaluable, and I can't thank you enough for taking the time to share it. As the game continues to evolve, your insights help in refining Chimera: Bloodlines into the immersive experience I've always envisioned it to be.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and please stay tuned for more updates!

I sincerely want to make the game huge, and overall, reshape how adult games are approached, where really interesting and deep narrative is balanced with lots of awesome sex scenes!

Warm Regards,

FunDi Games.
